The following information provides the hardware and operating system specifications needed to operate the core IQ reseller accounting and inventory application:
Server Software Microsoft Windows: XP Professional, Windows Server 2000, 2003, Small Business Server 2000, 2003
Server Hardware The IQ reseller architecture and database is extremely economical in the resources it requires. Unlike other “mid market” ERP solutions, where multiple high powered servers are required, IQ reseller can usually be installed on a server currently in the network. As with any core business application a Business Class server is recommended with Raid 5 redundancy or equivalent.
IQ reseller will accumulate approximately 4GB of data per year in a 20 concurrent user company 8 GB per year in a 40 concurrent user company. The following guidelines are based on actual machines being used by technology resellers to operate their business on IQ reseller
Server Capacity Guidelines
- 10-20 concurrent users
Compaq DL380 G2 or equivalent, dual 1.7 GHz processor, 4GB memory.
- 20-30 concurrent users
Compaq DL380 G3 or equivalent with dual 2.60+ GHz processors 6GB memory.
- 30- 40 concurrent users
Typical server requirements: HP DL380 G3 Dual 3.4 + GHz processors, 8 GB memory.
- 40-60 concurrent users
Typical server requirements: HP DL580 G2 Quad 3.0+ GHz processors, 8 GB memory
All of these servers are available in the secondary market at very reasonable prices. New servers of course and faster processors will always speed your process.
User Workstation Software Windows 2000, XP, Tablet
Workstation Hardware The best results are attained with 1.2Ghz Pentium III and above. Recommended memory is 768MB, 1 GB if running IQ reseller Ship integration.
Remote users Windows Terminal services or Citrix have excellent results.
